Weekend Reading, 21017

Personally, link round-ups are some of my favourite posts, and I look forward to reading them on the weekend. Sometimes you’ll see the same articles linked by different bloggers, but more often than not the list of links are completely different. I often find new blogs through these posts and it’s easy enough not to click on the articles you’re not interested in (this should be your internet mantra – if you’re not interested, don’t click. Kind of like not saying anything if you can’t say something nice).

With that in mind, I’m bringing back my weekend reading series. I’ve always liked to publish these posts at the end of the weekend, as a way to ease into the new week and when I’ve actually had time to read things worth sharing. This week, that means a Monday post – yay for public holidays!

With no further ado, these are the things that caught my eye this week:

A literary bent:
Jen’s blog, The Fashion Magpie, is somewhat new to me, but I’m obsessed. I consider my own blog to have a kind of literary bent, so can you imagine how happy I was when I found another blog with a decidedly literary point of view? Jen is a phenomenal writer and has incredible taste to boot. Hop on over, stat.

5 authors on how, why, and where they write.

On the therapeutic power of writing.

So, you want to be a full time blogger?

Monica covers off 7 things to keep in mind if you want to blog full time. In a similar vein, Cathy discusses the reality of being a full time blogger. As someone who would love to blog full time, I find this stuff fascinating.

New season, who dis?

Ashley’s October moodboard is dreamy, and I always look out for Meg’s moodboards as well.

Perfectly priced denim cut-offs, for those of us going into spring.

470 street style images from NYFW to keep you inspired to change things up.

The perfect neutral sandal, under $100 (though I am thinking about getting a rose gold pair).

Perfectly minimal black sandals, under $30 – steal.

I bought this cushion in blue during the week – it’s $15, linen, comes in 5 colours, and has pom poms. Enough said.

Enjoy your week xx
